Christine Crowell is a retired attorney who now paints in encaustics, oils, and pastels and creates colorful glass mosaics. Besides her wall art, she offers a collection of beautiful greeting cards created from her work. Christine shares, "I have been fortunate to reside on Whidbey Island for 22 years. The beauty and the nurturing arts community of Whidbey have inspired my art. It is here that I learned to paint after being told as a child that I didn't have an artistic bone in my body. And it is here that I gained the willingness to create and the comfort with vulnerability that is required to show my art. If I can do it, anyone can. Marcy Johnson has enjoyed a lifelong career in Fiber Arts and Jewelry. Throughout her extensive travels, sh e has explored and connected with different cultures, which have informed her creative work. In 1974, she opened Weaving Works, a fiber arts supply store and school in the Seattle University District, which operated for 50 years. Now, she focuses on her own work as a weaver by creating a beautiful line of hand-woven, colorful scarves, as well as rugs, throws, and shawls.
