Crossover Touring May Update |
Hello, everyone!
With Memorial Day now in the rearview mirror, we know many of you are in a sprint to finish up the 2026 calendar. Us, too! If you've got holes you're looking to fill, feel free to send them along and we'll see if there's a match with the tour planners.
Maybe we can chat about it at the NIVA Conference in a couple weeks? We'll have a large portion of the team on site, and have a small happy hour planned on Tuesday, June 9 — let us know if you'd like to get together in person! It's always great to put faces to the names behind the emails.
See you out there on the road, CT

• He's back! This week, The Tallest Man on Earth released his first new music since 2023 with "Colors," a single that's full of the textured depth and wide instrumental range that's become his calling card. Even better, the single accompanied the announcement of a month full of North American dates that start October 15 in North Carolina and finish up in Arizona.
• How do you follow up a debut EP called "This Joint's for You"? With a second EP called "This Joint's for You Too," obviously. "Rowdy Alternative" calls it "an epic sound you NEED to hear." The six-track record dropped last week along with Johnny's 2026 tour dates, which include more than 50 stops all across the country, without even mentioning a long stint in France.
• Hot on the heels of the "Any Old Fool" peaking at #1 on KCRW, the Souls sold out two nights at the Greek, added yet more dates to the Constellation Tour, which gets cooking in August, and embarked on their first tour of Asia. It's been a busy spring! But they found time to join Soulection for a killer DJ set at the Vinyl Room — we highly recommend it for a deep dive into some classic soul and R&B.
• There's a new date to look forward to: August 14, when the Womack Sisters will unveil their debut full-length record, titled simply "The Womack Sisters," and more than a decade in the making. As the lead single, "Chauffeur," proves, it's going to be well worth the wait. The three-part harmonies are spectacular, and Daptone Records' Gabriel Roth has done some of his finest work in assembling the backing band and adding his magical production touch. They'll be on the Constellation Tour with Thee Sacred Souls, but on August 14 they'll celebrate their record's release with a special show with Al Green at the Hollywood Bowl.
• You could say the new album has been well received: Bluegrass Situation calls it their "zenith" as part of a wide-ranging interview with bassist Ben Kaufmann, where he goes deep into the band's past, present, and future. Speaking of the future: Fall Tour just dropped.
• We were lucky this month to get treated to not one, but two incredible KEXP sets from the roster. Gwenifer Raymond's is an intimate and solo set of four songs, alternately hush-quiet and soaring. Cochemea brings a five-piece along and it is wild and danceable, with surprises at every turn. What a treat.
• As MT embarked on the North American portion of his "Joy" tour this week, he had a nice little surprise for fans: A brand-new live EP, "Sofa Sessions," recorded with BBC 2 this spring. If you were wondering if he could be that smooth in a live setting, this will settle any doubts.
• With sellouts of four of his six shows to celebrate the release of "Nighthawk," it's no wonder the Bluegrass Situation declared Jarrod "much more than just a sideman" and his album "a revelatory, infinitely expressive body of work – surprising if not at all unexpected." Don't worry: We'll have more avails for him soon.
• It's here! Following a string of singles, Slap Dragon's full-length debut, "Mission Statement," dropped this morning, full of some of the catchiest acoustic-jazz-funk-pop we've heard in a while. Lead-singer Laura Berens is in top form throughout, featuring a rare combination of diction and power. Look for them in July on their first extended East Coast run.
• Getting fired up for the World Cup? So is Seattle! As one of the host cities this summer, they've been featuring all sorts of reasons why the city is a great place to visit — including Amelia! Her "How We Pride" feature is a dip into what's been fueling her run across the country this spring and into the summer.
• Yes, Suzanne's new single, "Invincible," is a searing piece of indie rock-pop all on its own, but it hits just a little bit different when you see her perform it while demonstrably pregnant as part of the Austin Artist Spotlight series in the Brodie Studios backyard. Whew. Just incredibly powerful.
• Finally, it was a blast watching Eddie join the Black Keys on guitar for their performance of "You Got To Lose" on Jimmy Fallon a couple of weeks back. Nobody rocks a red satin jacket at 30 Rock like Eddie. And you might enjoy some of this conversation Dan Auerbach had with Rolling Stone — at 29:45 or so, he starts talking about producing Eddie's record and lets drop, "I think he carries the torch for Gregg [Allman] even better than I do." Their tour dates together are going to be something else.
