A Race to the Finish
Mrs. Carty's second-grade class has been practicing math fact drills daily to help them learn automaticity. Last week, the students raced Coach Simonson, who has challenged them several times this year. They are amazed that she can complete 100 facts in just over one minute! Way to go, Coach! Field Day Competition Heats Up
The third, fourth, and fifth graders braved the sun and heat for a fun field day. The following teams brought their best efforts to the practice field: Dreyer's Washers, Mrs. Finley's Finions, Carty Party, Brew Crew, Mr. Mac's Maniacs, and The Mighty Milazzos. The students competed in a number of challenges including water balloon toss, three-legged race, tug-of-war, sponge race, and the 50-yard dash. Gatorade and the thrill of winning powered them through a sweaty and fun afternoon.

For God So Loved the World
The ninth-grade students spent time this week studying the Gospel of John during Bible class. Through scripture reading and class discussion, students explored John’s message about the life, teachings, and love of Jesus.
