Today is the 17th anniversary of our first concert with ApX guitarist Tom Tincha, which took place in Medina OH (pronounced "Meh-DIE-nah") on November 15, 2008. Music fans everywhere still remember where they were on that fateful day. Well, I know I do, at least.
Earlier this week, Tinch celebrated an even more significant anniversary. As of Monday, he and his wife, Deborah, have now been married eight years. The two first met at an ApX concert in Poughkeepsie NY in May 2015.
I was actually there in the lobby when they had their first conversation, and I recognized an instant chemistry between them. The next thing I knew they were discussing the Nephilim (Genesis 6:4). No, I’m not kidding. |

Speaking of which, another legendary giant in the musical field deserves special recognition this week. Happy birthday to ApX keyboardist Rich Mannion, who officially turned a year older on Wednesday, although he’s still younger than everybody in this band except ApX drummer Jimmy “Vegas” Tanner.
Unlike the rest of the members of ApologetiX, Rich labored in the studio for many years with us before ever taking the stage at one of our concerts, because we weren’t touring when he joined the fold. His first live appearance with the band was at Immortal II in Versailles OH on September 1, 2024.
We initially made contact with Rich in April 2018 through the recommendation of ApX alum keyboardist/producer Bill Hubauer. Rich's first ApX parody was "L.S.F.” Although that single wasn’t released until July 9, 2018, he sent us his keyboards parts for it on June 5, 2018.
We praise God for putting these two great men in our lives and in our band!
When I saw this photo of Rich a month and a half ago, I immediately thought of those Dos Equis commercials for “The Most Interesting Man in the World” from 2006-16. Can’t you just imagine Rich saying, “I don’t always celebrate birthdays. But when I do, I prefer … not to discuss irrelevant things like age.” |

Encouraging Update From Bill "Moose" Rieger |

I have another update on ApX alum drummer Bill “Moose” Rieger for you. and it’s an encouraging one:
For those of you just joining us, Bill is dealing with an inoperable brain tumor (glioma), which he learned about in January after suffering a concussion. In early May, he completed an intense six-week regimen of radiation therapy. Then his wife, Chris, passed away unexpectedly on June 1. He started chemo in mid-October.
Bill posted the following on Thursday afternoon: |
I have no idea why some of us get better and some of us get sicker. I really don't. It makes me thankful that I'm not God.
I'm thankful that I'm currently getting better. I'm almost completely recovered from radiation therapy and my latest MRI says my tumor went to 1.7 x 1.3 cm, previously measuring 2.1 x 1.5 cm.
I praise Jesus as much today as I did earlier this year, which is far more than I did in the last 10 years.
I've said it before, I'd never ask for this or want any of this for any of you, but I'm thankful that my relationship with Jesus is where it is. I hope for that closeness for all of you. Don't wait until you are where I am or go through what I've gone through to get here ... it doesn't have to be this hard. I promise, He loves you exactly for who you are right now. |

Sometimes now and then if you talk about Christ’s ability to save us through His sacrifice on the cross, people may look at you look at you funny like you’re a daydreamer or some kind of nut. In the meantime, they forget that God is not just a God of love, but a God of holiness. Trust Jesus while you can. Time is a thief when you’re undecided.
