In exciting news for the building, the inaugural artists in residence,
Kuamen and
Antonin Gerson spent September with us, upstairs at
Newcastle Contemporary Art.
As an artist
Kuamen
aims to create spaces for dialogue with the oppressed people from the housing projects he came from. His interdisciplinary practice investigates social behaviours and injustices from his multi-ethnic minority standpoint.
Based in Brussels working in both France and Belgium,
Antonin
is an artist, curator and musician. Very sensitive to the noises that surround him Gerson has cultivated a sound dimension as the common thread of his work.
The residency culminated in a one night only public event. You can read more about the residency, and keep up to date with gallery events on the
NCA website.
