In March 1996, Birth Companions was founded to support pregnant women and new mothers in the harsh environment of Holloway Prison. Thirty years on, we have stood alongside thousands of women and babies through some of the most difficult and complex situations imaginable, showing what is possible when care is coordinated and rooted in dignity and compassion.
