Join us for the Annual Juried Exhibition presentation in partnership with Western University Visual Arts, gdaa-giiwemin by Genevieve Buchanan on view from August 8-16th.

The opening reception will be held on Saturday, August 9th, from 5-7pm.

Along the Southern coast of Lake Huron lies the nesting grounds of the thunderbird. Scattered among beds of shale are their eggs, also known as “kettles.” For decades, three of these kettles have been at Western University, but soon they will return home.

gdaa-giiwemin tells the story of this journey and invites others to walk along this path of repatriation.

FCG Pier - Creating Space Collectively

Please join us for the FCG Pier exhibition, Creating Space Collectively, which showcases the collaborative drawings created in the SafeSpace x FCG: Creating Space workshop, on display from August 8-16.

Join us for the opening reception on Saturday, August 9^th from 5-7pm to celebrate this FCG Pier exhibition in support of SafeSpace.

SafeSpace x FCG: Creating Space was a therapeutic art event held on June 29, 2025 at FCG. 9 participants attended, and beginning with an opening by local artist Ruby Ross, harmonized with one another and collectively reflected on wellness. We then each started a piece adding what intuitively felt right to represent ourselves, our wellness, our collective, our community. We worked for 12 minutes, then changed to the next piece. Everyone worked on each collaborative piece, making them truly created by our collective.

Join us Thursday, August 14 at Museum London for a special edition of Hear Here - Hear There: ADJD Tripsitter Society.

Presented in partnership with Museum London, this free, all ages event will feature a live improvisation set by experimental electronic collective ADJD Tripsitter Society, followed by a collaborative jam session inside 𝘓𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘙𝘰𝘰𝘮 𝘑𝘢𝘮 𝘚𝘦𝘴𝘩, a student-led art-tech installation made of hybrid furniture-instruments.

Call for Board Member - Media Collab Liaison

Are you a media artist or an artist interested in media arts in Southwestern Ontario?

If this sounds like you, Forest City Gallery is currently searching for a unique Board of Directors position of Media Collab Liaison to help support programming decisions and engage the community to promote the Media Collab.

The Media Collaboratory (Collab for short) is an on-site resource outfitted with communal equipment and software necessary for the production, post-production, and marketing of artistic work. It features a bi-monthly workshop series and skill-based learning in Media Art or Artist Professionalization.

Gallery Closure & Soft Skills Paused For August

The Gallery will be closed from August 17th - September 3rd for a summer break and the next exhibition installation.

For the August summer break, there will be no Soft Skills or drop-in sessions in the Media Collab. During that time we will be updating our equipment list and getting ready for the fall programming and exciting new Soft Skills programming launching in the fall. Stayed tuned for updates in September!
