In looking back to 2025, I would like to thank all of you in supporting The Friends of MacKenzie, through your membership and volunteer time. We had a great year!

Our Annual Membership Meeting is on January 22nd starting at 4:45 with registration.

Looking forward to seeing all of you again this year. Maple season is coming soon and planning on a fun time working with students and ultimately Maplefest! The next planning meeting is on January 8th at 1:00 in the Finishing House.

Training Day February 19th starting at 8:30
Set Up Day February 27th at 8:00
Maple Program March 2nd through April 2nd.
Maplefest Set Up is April 3rd
Maplefest is April 4th
Maple Clean Up April 6th starting at 8:00

Highlights from November Board Meeting

DNR Report: Candlelight Hike in November was successful with over 150 people attending. Staff are prepping the property for winter.

Annual agreement between DNR and the Friends is completed.

MOU related to special track wheelchair is being worked on.

Gift shop manager is vacant. Are you interested? Let Carl know.

Fall Festival in October was a hit.

Maple Program was discussed.

Bison blanket will be at the lodge.

College Scholarships for 2026 will be ready soon.

Volunteer hours need to be recorded and send to DNR.

Next meeting is January 13th at 6 pm. Contact Carl if you would like to attend the meeting via zoom.

What to do with your Christmas Tree?

You can donate your tree to the MacKenzie Center wildlife. Please make sure no ornaments, tinsel, or other decorations are attached. Trees that have been sprayed with preservatives or other chemicals cannot be accepted. Donated trees can be dropped off at the back entrance to the wildlife exhibit!
