Classes were back in full swing and we got to grips with the Pilates ball, a great little addition that made us work just that bit harder while really helping with posture and control. If you joined me in class then hopefully you felt the difference.
Classes are now on a well-earned break, and I'll be honest, my body had already decided that for me. I've come down with shingles this week, so it's been a very timely reminder to slow down and actually listen to what my body is telling me.
It's a reminder that rest is not the opposite of movement, it's part of it. Recovery, stillness and taking things gently are just as important as showing up and working hard. Whether you're dealing with an injury, illness or just feeling a bit run down, give yourself permission to rest. Your body will thank you for it.
I'm taking my own advice and looking forward to coming back refreshed for June.
