What's New
Implementing Science 7–10 in 2026
The 2018 Science 7–10 syllabus will not be available after December 2027.
A range of support materials are available to guide implementation of the new syllabus including:
The Science 7–10 Data Book supports the syllabus by providing the same data to all students as a foundation for learning. It emphasises conceptual understanding and the practical application of scientific ideas, presenting data as a basis for interpretation, analysis, evidence-based reasoning, and problem solving through scientific investigation. The Depth study guide supports the teaching of depth study in Stages 4 and 5 of the Science 7–10 syllabus (2023). A depth study is any type of scientific investigation that provides students with an opportunity to pursue their interests and deepen their scientific understanding of one or more focus areas.
K–6 PDHPE syllabus spotlight: Self-management and interpersonal skills
The spotlight video takes an in-depth look at how students will learn self-management and interpersonal skills from early childhood, supporting them to build healthy relationships across the classroom, playground, and wider community.
