The Northport Food Pantry would love some help restocking one of its most popular shelves, dubbed by one
volunteer as the “Exotic Corner.” It holds miscellaneous items that are not the Pantry’s typical fare –
condiments, salad dressings, herbs and spices, jams and jellies, oils and vinegars, cooking sauces, baking
ingredients, teas and coffees, cookies and crackers, specialty foods, seasonal foods, and sweet or savory treats.
There are usually just one or two packages of a particular item available but the broad variety gives visitors
the opportunity to choose something special to take home along with the more typical food pantry stock of
canned and packaged foods. Unopened, unexpired, non-perishable items can be dropped off at the Pantry’s food collection box at the Town Office.
