Everyday Urban Landscapes
Throughout the month of August the High Bridge Works reception area housed a beautiful collection of artworks by studio holder Giedre Ka.

An Evening With... Pure Evil
Continuing their progression of pop up shows throughout the High Bridge Works building, in July Unit44 hosted An Evening with... Pure Evil at NCA.

This fascinating show featured vibrant screen prints, limited edition jigsaws and even live art during the opening, as seen below! Photograph by Ryan Lilburn

Common Good
In mid June Newcastle Contemporary Art hosted a launch event of Common Good. This was a forum for discussing the built environment across the North, with a focus on the importance of inclusivity and diversity in city-making.

Taking Space
Taking Space was an event organised by activist Sarah Ackland. It took the form of a five mile run around the city ending at Newcastle Contemporary Art, where runners and guests gathered to share collective experiences of taking up more space in the city through running.

Ladies, Wine & Design Newcastle
This June, the Newcastle leg of Ladies, Wine & Design celebrated their fifth birthday.
Often hosted here at High Bridge Works, this fantastic group brings together local female and non binary creatives, and is well worthy of celebrating!

Studioholder Spotlight
Barbara De Vivi
Introducing Barbara De Vivi. The life of images, their hybridization and overlapping, is central to De Vivi's research. In her paintings she bridges traditional iconographic motifs with personal instances and contemporary aesthetics, outlining tales that, while referring to a shared cultural heritage, remain open in the coexistence of meanings. Barbara is soon to leave High Bridge Works for an exciting relocation to Hamburg.
