Last Chance to Enter the 2026 WriteOn Competition
Teaching and learning materials aligned to the English K–10 Syllabus are available to help students create an imaginative text of up to 500 words, using the stimulus quote: It was a small thing, but it made a difference.
Winners of the competition will be celebrated at a prestigious event held at the State Library of NSW and have their entry published in The Best of WriteOn 2026 anthology.

Supporting numeracy learning across new syllabuses
These resources provide advice on teaching numeracy across specific focus areas and syllabus content and include teaching and learning activities to help students recognise and link mathematics to other areas of learning.
NAPLAN results available for schools this week
ACARA is releasing the final NAPLAN student and school summary report (SSSR) to schools shortly.
Information on how to access and interpret the report will be emailed to principals and NAPLAN coordinators.
Respectful relationships and consent
To support teachers with implementation, we’ve released a new fact sheet outlining what students will learn across each stage, including the essential content and key learning areas. This content is essential learning for all NSW students and needs to be implemented in schools from 2027.

Learning First conference: implementing new syllabuses
Learning First is hosting a two-day conference to explore the teaching of new knowledge-rich syllabuses.
Designed for classroom teachers, curriculum and system leaders, the conference will feature experienced practitioners and curriculum experts, sharing insights about implementing curriculum reform and what it looks like across different subjects.
