HSC Written Exams Begin on Thursday
All the best to the HSC Class of 2025, who start written exams on Thursday 16 October!
Over the 17-day exam period, 79,712 students will sit at least one of the 123 exams. When HSC written exams end on Friday 7 November, more than 400,000 unique exams sittings will have been completed.
Our advice to students:
Plan your trip, check the transport timetable, and allow for extra travel time to get to exams. Check your exam timetable and location on Students Online. Train timetables are changing from Sunday 19 October. Use Trip Planner for the latest train times. Contact your school if you are unwell. Your school will support you to submit an illness/misadventure application – applications must be accompanied by evidence on the day of the exam.

NSW Teaching Gems Shining Bright
World Teachers’ Day will be celebrated here in NSW on Friday 31 October.
In the lead up to the big day, we’re calling on the community to recognise “NSW Teaching Gems” with the return of our interactive map!
We’ve received over 2,000 shout-outs so far from Orange, Kingsgrove, Wagga Wagga, Bathurst, Mount Kembla, Culcairn, and Tamworth.
Pop our posters up around your school/service and get students, family and friends to participate.
Search the Map for messages for your teachers. Read them out at assembly or hand them out in the staff room.
Share the Map in your newsletter and social media channels.
Shout out your “gems” on social media using #WTD2025 and #NSWTeachingGems.
