On Saturday, 4^th April we’ll be at the Longridge Book Fair being held at the Civic Hall, Calder Avenue PR3 3HJ.

This book fair is traditionally held at Easter and is the longest established event on the North West Book Fairs calendar having run for nigh on forty years.

Around fifteen dealers offering for sale a good mixture of secondhand, antiquarian and collectable books and ephemera. Café and a large free car park.

Longridge is situated in the Ribble Valley close to Grimsargh and Ribchester, within easy reach of Preston and the M6 motorway, and just a short distance from Clitheroe via the B6243. Nearby attractions include Beacon Fell Country Park near Bleasdale, the Bowland Wild Boar Park near Chipping, and the beautiful scenery of the Forest of Bowland.

On Saturday, 11^th April we’ll be exhibiting at the Bakewell Book Fair being held at the Agricultural Business Centre, Haddon Road DE45 1AH.

Open from 10am till 4pm there will be around twenty-two dealers with antiquarian, collectable and secondhand books and ephemera.

A large car park onsite, with cafés and shops nearby.

The pretty market town of Bakewell lies on the banks of the River Wye in the Derbyshire Dales and is widely known for its local dessert delicacy of the Bakewell pudding. The town is easily accessed via the A6, is within close distance of Buxton and Matlock, and only a short distance away are the splendors of Chatsworth House.

On Sunday, 19^th April we’ll be at the Buxton Book Fair being held at the St. Anne’s Parish Centre, Hardwick Square West SK17 6PX.

Around twelve exhibitors with secondhand and collectable books.

On Saturday, 25^th April we’ll be exhibiting at Barton Book Fair being held in the Village Hall, Garstang Road PR3 5AA.

Around eighteen dealers with a good range of secondhand, antiquarian and collectable books and ephemera. Café and a large free car park.

Barton is situated on the A6 just a short distance from Preston and Junction 32 of the M6 motorway and providing easy access to Garstang, Lancaster and the Fylde coast towns of Lytham, St. Annes and Blackpool.

Spine ends a touch bruised; light bump to fore-edge of boards. Light age-toning to pages but otherwise clean throughout.

The gothic classic by Emily Brontë was originally published 1847 by London publishers Thomas Cautley Newby under her pseudonyn 'Ellis Bell'. This copy being a volume in the extensive New Collins Classics series, first published in 1953 and with many subsequent printings.

Limp boards. Publisher's blue textured Rexine (or similiar) cloth with silvered title and decoration to spine; grey printed endpapers with repeated Collins Classics monogram design; tinted pale blue to top edge of page-block. 350pp including b/w porrait frontispiece. Size: 7.25 x 4.5 inches approx. (184mm x 116mm).

A particularly nice, clean copy - copies in this condition aren't as common as they used to be.
