Hello,
Since our last newsletter in late March, we have received several new reports of possible encounters with a South Island kōkako, one was even with two of these cryptic birds. We share the six best.
We are always looking for new ways to advance the search effort and we have recently been introduced to, met and been offered help from the global nonprofit, WildMon. We tell you all about that wonderful opportunity and their wonderful work.
Two groups of our fabulous volunteers were out on expeditions during the Autumn; firstly a look, listen plus trail camera maintenance trip along the northern section of the Heaphy Track. Secondly, on a trip that stretched from Abel Tasman National Park to the Lenz Reserve in Southland and was driven by the making of a new film, four sites were visited and incredible drone photography revealed some secrets.

As always, we have one key messages - we need your help - in two ways:
We need an image of our missing bird! Still or video, either will do, so please be ready, especially at the sites of interest we share with you.
We need donations to keep this project going. We remind you how and you can buy some colourful merchandise that will include a donation from the generous kiwi abroad who runs that offer.
