As I filled in the snippets in this week's newsletter I found myself wanting another word for 'Autumn' as it was cropping up so many times. But I think it's such a big event in our year that there really is no other word. Summer seeps slowly into our gardens as Spring tries to hold on. Winter dapples about as the weather toys with us ("it's so cold it feels like snow!"). But Autumn is the showman of the seasons, bringing obvious changes, festivities, moods.
So, no, I'm not going to apologise for glittering the next few mailing with that word.
(Winter will be given a few new choice words I'm sure if it snows too hard and messes up the traffic!)

I am giving a early notice to our upcoming Family Memorial Service, Sunday 1st Nov, look out for next weeks mailing for details.
