Summer Community Fundraising Events

The first summer community fundraising event is this month, on Sunday, July 19, from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm; doors open at 4:00 pm. A Contra Dance will take over the Bayside Village Center at 813 Shore Rd. The event will feature live music and guided Contra Dance, plus a raffle drawing! Follow the Town's Facebook page for updates.

Raffle Tickets are on sale now at the Town Office and around Town. $5 for one, $20 for 5! You do not have to be present to win, and tickets will also be available at the event. Prizes include a luxurious Swans Island Blanket, a 3-Night Stay at Camp DeForest, $100 Gift Certificates to The Hoot, and more!

8/2/2026: Best of Maine and Lobster Bake at Ruggles Park 2:00 pm-6:00 pm. More details to follow here on the website.

9/20/2026: The return of Northportpalooza! The search for the team of kids to plan it is on now! If a child in your life would like to help plan the event, please contact James Kossuth at administrator@northportmaine.org.

Property Taxes

RJD Appraisal has finished its work determining property values in Town. All property owners will soon be receiving a letter in the mail from RJD with your new property value, the estimated tax rate for 2026, and your estimated taxes due for 2026. RJD staff will be meeting with taxpayers near the end of July, and you may schedule a meeting with them by contacting the Town Office. The Select Board will set the new tax rate in August, and tax bills will be mailed shortly after that.

The first half of Town taxes will be due September 30, and Village taxes this year will also be due September 30.

ScrapDogs Compost Pilot Project

As part of a two-year grant-funded pilot program, the Town is distributing free food scrap buckets for residents to bring their food waste to the Transfer Station. With enough participants, the Town should be able to reduce the amount of garbage hauled from the Transfer Station, save the Town money, and make the project permanent.

Meet the Intern!

Hi! I am CJ Atherton, Northport Town Office Summer 2026 Intern through the Margaret Chase Smith Policy Center Maine Summer Government Internship program, or MCSPCMSGIP for short!

I am working on many projects for the Town, notably a Website Accessibility project that will improve both user and editor experience and ease of information. I also hope to bring my event planning experience to the summer community events.

Feel free to say hi if you stop by the office or see me at an event.

Flag Fundraiser

Northport VFW Post 6131 is raising funds to replace some of the flags that it puts on telephone poles along Route 1 through the Town every year. The VFW is also seeking help with placing and removing the flags each year.

The Select Board will hold the following meetings in July:

-- Monday, July 13 at 6:15 pm at the Town Office.

-- Monday, June 27 at 6:15 pm at the Town Office.
