Please come and join our celebrations. Raise a glass to our incredible past success and wish me well for the future!
‘Wildwood Art Gallery,’ is closing as a ‘general’ gallery. It's your last chance to collect some fantastic art at reduced prices and say goodbye.

Wildwood opened its doors to an excited crowd on 3rd of June 2017- 9 years ago! It has been an incredible journey. I took an empty shell of a building, in a little village on the moor. I scrubbed the floors and painted the walls, put in lighting and hanging systems and created a beautiful space for artists to exhibit their work and for others to enjoy.

The gallery 9 years ago when I took it over!
|
In the beginning, I was asking artists who did not know me, to trust me to sell their work; I thank those who did trust me and have remained with Wildwood throughout such as David William Young, Rebecca De Mendonca, Jennie Hale, Mike Moss and Faith Chevannes.
These days, I am constantly approached by new artists, which I feel demonstrates our success and good reputation. We became a leading gallery in the area; known for our high- standards, honesty, friendliness and integrity, of which I am extremely proud. We began as a local gallery, showcasing local artists and makers with a focus on Dartmoor and we have sold their work across the UK as well as internationally.

Wildwood’s growth and success wouldn't have been possible without a great deal of hard-work and support from a number of very special people namely: Hilary, Pat, Cate and Sue and importantly, Ellis (aka-Egg), as well as the fabulous work of the artists and of course our wonderful customers. We had some fun and laughs along the way.
|
The gallery on opening day with a queue to get in, Egg & me on opening night, Hilary, Jackie, Pat, The late Richard Slater, friends of the gallery after an exhibition , Claude the dog and of course the brilliant artist and washer upper David William Young.
|
Thanks to art agent Geoff Sloan, I also became specialist in British-post war art. It has been a privilege and a honour to represent several, prestigious post-war artist estates, such as Richard Slater RI, Arthur Homeshaw RWA, Sonia Robinson and Allin Braund and I thank their families for trusting me with their artistic estates.
|
Inevitably, with focusing on the gallery, my own creative work has been neglected. This last year, I have tried various ways to juggle the time, but still to no avail. I can’t seem to get more than seven days out of a week! Moreover, there are other exciting ventures that I wish to explore whilst I am still young enough to do so.
I will continue to teach art from Wildwood and I will also be continuing my own art and writing under the Wildwood name - so Wildwood won’t be disappearing completely.

You can expect, as always, the highest quality artwork from the best artists, plus new previously unseen work by a Colin T Johnson. As a way of saying thank you, there will be some reductions and bargains to be had too.
