Dear <<First Name>>,

Welcome to fall. The leaves are turning with brilliant colors, and the mornings are a bit crisp. Fields are being harvested.

The Friends of MacKenzie along with the DNR are hosting Fall Fest October 18th from 10:00 through 2:00. This is a great way to for families to come out and enjoy the outdoors and activities. You will have a chance to test your skills at at a compass course, archery, along with your knowledge of animal furs, and skulls. There will be hayrides, hay bale maze, and pond study.

This is also a way to show your support for the Mackenzie Center. So come on out and enjoy the weather, and have fun with family and friends.

All the best,
Carl Bujanowski, President

Call for Volunteers

This year's Friends of MacKenzie Fall Festival is on Saturday, October 18th from 10am-2pm (with a rain date of Sunday, October 19th).Please email us at MCeventvolunteers@gmail.com to secure your prefer volunteer spot (the list is on the website).

As for donation items, we are looking for places or individuals that would be willing to donate straw bales, crafting items, pumpkin decorated leaf bags, gourds, soybeans, feed corn, candy, baked goods, and/or corn stalks. If you have any of these items, please email MCeventvolunteers@gmail.com to set up a time to drop them off. Drop off days closer to the event would work better but please let us know if you have the items as early as possible!

This event takes hundreds of volunteers to make it successful, so please feel free to forward this newsletter to other friends, family members, and co-workers who might be interested in volunteering. We rely on word of mouth to help recruit volunteers.

October Fact

October's names have interesting origins in different cultures. The Anglo-Saxons called it Winterfylleth, referring to the first full moon of the month as the start of winter. The Saxons named it Wyn Monath, meaning “wine month” due to wine-making season. These intriguing names contribute to the appeal of October.
