Dave describes his process of creating these three winter scenes.
"The Alders photo was taken in very early spring when the sap was just rising in the trunks, causing a slight green-gray cast to them. I tried to catch that tone in the watercolor to make the Alders subtly pop.
"The North Cascades Sketch came from a watercolor journal sketch, which I photographed and edited heavily in Photoshop before engraving.
"In the original photograph of the Lone Tree in Yellowstone, the shoreline was cluttered with scrub growth that obscured most of the details. After heavily editing the clutter out of the image, the final result became what I had been imagining."
