Our Call for Workshop Submissions is now open!
Forest City Gallery is delighted to announce an open call for our workshop series in the Media Collaboratory (Media Collab for short) at Forest City Gallery from March to October 2026.
We are seeking proposals from professional artists interested in media art, broadly defined, to present workshops either in-person or online that investigate, interdisciplinary and experimental approaches to new media. This could include: hands-on experimentation workshops, exploration of emergent technologies, skill-sharing and process-based inquiries, a new take on a previous workshop theme, technological experimentation, and production or post-production of media-based artworks.
We support artists interested in submitting workshop proposals that offer alternative approaches to collective & peer-to-peer learning. Our current capacity for in-person workshops is limited to 15 participants and access to equipment is limited. Workshop proposals must consider analogue or digital technology from a low barrier point of view. Selected applicants will commit to leading their workshop for a duration of 2 - 4 hours, as a one-off session, and will receive a CARFAC artist fee.
For our past Media Collab workshops visit our website
here.
We invite interested applicants to apply. Should applicants need any accommodations during the application, they are encouraged to reach out to
collaboratory@forestcitygallery.com for alternative deliverables and/or support.
Please note that any associated travel costs will not be covered, but we are open to hosting online and/or hybrid workshops.
The deadline for submissions is January 8th 2026.
Submissions must be emailed to the Media Collaboratory Coordinator, Lianne Zannier:
collaboratory@forestcitygallery.com. If you have any questions regarding this call for submissions please don’t hesitate to contact us.
