J. Jackson, lead singer and lyricist for ApologetiX here.
When we released our 50th CD, Exit Ego Lopa, in December 2017, we achieved a longtime secret goal — an album title for every letter of the alphabet. Now with our upcoming 80th CD, You’re in the Eighties Now, we’ve done it twice!
I’m surprised none of you noticed … guess you’re not as obsessive as yours truly. There are only 26 letters in the alphabet, and we already had some of them covered twice (or more) by the start of 2018, so you can see I'm not totally obsessive. Releasing four CDs a year helps speed things up, but we didn't just go for missing letters. If a title with a letter we’d already used twice worked better (like Alien Invasion, Decent Alternative, or Septuagint, for example) we went with it and hoped God would let us get there eventually.
In case you’re wondering, the letters that start our albums titles the most are:
|
C - (15) Chosen Ones, Classics (12 Titles), Conspiracy No. 56, and Come See, Come Saw A - (7) Adam Up, Apol-acoustiX, Apoplectic, Alien Invasion, Apolog80s: Back From the Future, ApologetiX ‘74, and ApologetiX ’77 S - (5) Spoofernatural, Soundproof, Singles Group, Sandwich Platter, and Septuagint

I had three other alphabetical aspirations that came to fruition in 2019-20:
In November 2019, we achieved the second goal: having a parody title for every letter of the alphabet — from "Aaronic" to "Zekie's Start-Up." The final letter we needed for that was Z, so it should be obvious what song completed the collection.
In December 2019, we achieved the third goal: spoofing an artist for every letter of the alphabet — from ABBA to ZZ Top. X was the elusive letter, but we got it by spoofing XTC with "The Ballad of Peter Plungin' Ahead."
In August 2020, we achieved the fourth goal: spoofing a song title for every letter of the alphabet. Once again, X was the final piece: “XXX’s and OOO’s (An American Girl)” by Trisha Yearwood.
Before you ask, I’m not sure we’ll accomplish those other three goals a second time. In each case, X would be the hardest one to repeat without really forcing the issue. Then again, as Rocco Lampone said in Godfather II, “Difficult ... not impossible."
Praise the Lord for giving us the ideas and the opportunities to realize those goals!

Clues for 2025 Single #20 |
We hope to release our 20th single of 2025 by the end of this weekend, Lord willing. Here are your clues. Want to really impress us? See if you can spot all of the references in both entries. We counted a total of 24.
SONG #1
Are you sick and tired of crying over your sins? Would you like to be in that number when the saints go marching in? Come to Jesus! What a price He paid for us so long ago … just a lonely man on a cross. Ain’t it good to know He was alive and kickin’ soon after (and ever since)? His disciples had to wait and see what would happen, but you don’t.
SONG #2
As you may have noticed, this world’s broken and dirty, filled with folks hurting each other on a one-way road to hell. That's no laughing matter, but don’t lie down and give up or turn around and walk away. It’s no time to panic. Jesus is the answer and the key. One day, He’ll straighten out everything and make it all right. Watch and pray. Once the new single is released, we'll announce it in our news bulletin, on our website, and on our Facebook page.

Biblical-Tour Guide Uses ApX to Teach Travelers |
We got this wonderful email this week from a fan in Idaho:
|
You'll be happy to know that I use your tunes for my MANNA! tours to Israel, Greece, Egypt, Turkey, Italy, and other parts of Europe, as "bus" music for my trips on church history, Bible lands and books, Life of Christ, and Footprints of Paul.
My mission is to help people interpret history, navigate culture, and explore faith to create trusted, transformative change.” My guests love your songs and I appreciate your "teaching" music.
Praying for you and God's blessing upon your ministry and music.
Dr. Rick Chromey, D.Min. Historian/Theologian/Tour Guide Star ID
|
You can learn more about Rick’s ministry HERE.
We asked him if he’d be OK if we shared what he’d written, and he graciously agreed and added the following:
|
We need at least 12 people for all these trips to go (to a max of 42). The Greece/Turkey trip has a three-day Mediterranean Island cruise (to Mykonos, Ephesus, Patmos, Crete, and Santorini), and we have room for more. I hear the cruise line will be pulling unused cabins in November.
MANNA! Tours strongly believes in pastoral development. It's why we award one free and full registration for every 12 people to register from the same group, church, or organization.
October is Pastor Appreciation Month, and these edu-travel tours are fantastic pastor "thank you" or Christmas gifts! You'd be surprised how many pastors have not been to Israel or Greece. So let's pray for God to bless!
|
Amen, Rick! Thank you for sharing that with us and for sharing us with the people on your tours!

Bible-Reading Plan for 2025 |
We began our latest trip through the Bible on Wednesday, April 3. Note: If you don't have a Bible handy, you can look up these passages for free on Bible Gateway. They have about 60 different English translations/versions there to choose from, plus translations in many other languages, many of which also have multiple translations/versions.
