World Teachers' Day in NSW
Last Friday, we joined school communities right across NSW to celebrate over 170,000 NSW teachers for World Teacher’s Day and set a new record for our NSW Teaching Gems Map!
From Ashfield to Armidale and Dubbo to Dulwich Hill, we saw an incredible 18,582 messages submitted to the Map, each gem illustrating the importance of early childhood, primary, and secondary teachers in communities across NSW.
The Map is now closed to new submissions. All submissions will be published by Tuesday 4 November.
However, you can continue to read all messages online. Don’t forget to find your school’s messages and save a copy!
What's New
Handwriting resources for Primary teachers
Handwriting resources are available on the NSW Curriculum website, offering practical support to use in your classroom.
New feature on the NSW Curriculum website
Our new ‘View side-by-side’ feature allows teachers to see 2 syllabuses (or 2 Stages in the same syllabus) next to each other in one browser window, supporting teachers’ programming and curriculum conversations.
This feature is now available on the NSW Curriculum website for desktop devices.
Web content on Not for Profit requirements has been improved and moved to nsw.gov.au/NESA to make it easier for non-government schools to understand and meet their obligations.
These updates follow the transfer of not for profit funding regulation from the NSW Department of Education to NESA.
From Tuesday 4 November 2025, Not for Profit content will no longer be available on the DoE website.
