At 10 years old Cora joined swim team and now races the 100 backstroke and 100 IM, and event that requires swimmers to swim backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and freestyle. Wanting to try something new and striving to improve, she plans to race the 200 backstroke this year and make it to conferences in multiple events. She’s looking forward to improving her stroke and building endurance to race a longer event. As a lifeguard, Cora likes working for the Rec Center because she knows the people who work here, and it was easy to get started after being so familiar with the facility as a swim team member.
When Cora’s not at or in the pool she’s doing A LOT of calculus homework preparing for the AP Calc test and her dream of studying physics or astro physics in college, hopefully at UW.
