We send many congratulations to LAURENCE CUMMINGS who has just been appointed Music Director of the Academy of Ancient Music from the 2021-22 season. Laurence is one of our patrons and has generously supported CinW by giving fundraising concerts over the years. Nicholas toured with us in early March this year - it seems a long time ago.FENELLA HUMPHREYS (violin) and DANIEL GRIMWOOD (piano) have recorded an Advent Calendar. For £1 a day you will be able to watch a video each day from 1 December to Christmas, and the videos will be yours to enjoy as long as you like. Fenella and Daniel gave a beautiful performance of the Archduke Trio with Cara Berridge as part of the Online Series.RICCARDO PES (cello), who was so helpful in facilitating the Online Series, has just released a new single, SHOOTING STAR. The album, QUBIT, will be available in 2021.CinW performer and patron, ALASDAIR BEATSON, was involved in a Wigmore concert recently, which is available until 1 December. https://wigmore-hall.org.uk/live-streams/steven-isserlis-and-friends Anticipating 2022, which brings the centenary of the death of French novelist Marcel Proust (1871-1922), and at John Gilhooly’s invitation, cellist Steven Isserlis has conceived a concert of music with links to the epoch-making French writer. Proust loved music and chamber music in particular meant a great deal to him: musical references are common throughout his vast masterpiece À la recherche du temps perdu. On 31 October, Isserlis celebrates such references. He is joined by Lucy Crowe, Alina Ibragimova, Rachel Roberts, Connie Shih and Alasdair Beatson, in an evening of music and words narrated by actor Simon Callow.We are planning to restart live venue concert tours in April/May 2021.
