The biggest news of the week is the absence of any significant news.  When might we hear from supporters of the Constitution standing against the onslaught of unconstitutional laws being rammed through federal and state legislatures? There is no news on state legislatures mandating paper-ballot voting and counting for upcoming elections.  There is no news of the Supreme court accepting meritorious election cases or 2nd Amendment cases.  There is no news of states moving to annul countless unconstitutional measures or to assert 10th Amendment rights.  There is no news of governors defying the Biden administration to bring National Guard troops home from DC.  

Said one Washington-based journalist about Republican silence and inactivity, “It's just crickets up here on the Hill.”  

There is, of course, the sound of politically-correct Republicans murmuring with and voting with Democrats to continue this lawless rush into the future, trampling the Constitution as they go.  This week, following the easy passage of anti-gun legislation, Senator Feinstein introduced a ban on 205 “assault weapons.” The legislation, called the “Assault Weapons Ban of 2021,” is co-sponsored by 34 Senate Democrats. It would also ban ammunition magazines holding more than ten rounds.  

The assault on American borders by criminal migrants continues, the Biden administration welcoming across record numbers of illegals.   In February, the Southwest border saw at least 100,441 illegal entries, up from 78,442 the month before.  You have to go all the way back to 2006 to find a February in which Border Patrol apprehensions were that high. 

The administration also began granting visas to foreign travelers who publicly hold to seditious ideologies, banned during the Trump years.

The value of the American dollar was further driven downward by more digital currency “creation.”  We saw figures this week for the 4th quarter of 2020, during which total household debt increased by $206 billion (1.4 percent) to $14.56 trillion.   The CBO estimates that federal debt held by the public will reach double the size of the economy, rising from 79 percent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at the end of 2019 and 100 percent of GDP at the end of Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 to 202 percent of GDP by 2051.  Yet the Dutch bank Rabobank explained that Inflation will continue to be "hidden" because belief the financial system is collapsing. 

President Biden found time this week to order reentry into the W.H.O.  On Tuesday, Chinese Communist Party “experts” urged the World Health Organization to let China build and run a global database for “vaccine passports” documenting if every person on earth has received a Chinese coronavirus vaccine.  

Mr. Biden also found time this week to order the rejoining the Paris Climate Accord, and the halting deportations of criminal aliens, and to entangle America in new front-line conflicts in the Mideast.  Video surfaced this week showing a direct hit on and American convoy of US troops, with a statement saying, "An Iraqi group calling itself 'The International Resistance' claimed responsibility for targeting an American logistics convoy in city of Fallujah today," 

And finally, academic Nasser Aza from Erbil reports on the Pope’s visit to Iraq.  “Many Kurds,” Aza said, “see the Pope as a person who flatters wicked people like President Erdoğan.  Muslims on social media are triumphantly declaring that the pope has surrendered to Islam.”
