1. South Dakota Resists Biden Orders

Legislation introduced in the South Dakota House of Representatives seeks to give the state’s attorney general the authority to review executive orders from President Joe Biden and potentially nullify any order deemed unconstitutional.  State Rep. Aaron Aylward (R-Harrisburg) introduced HB 1194, which is described as an act “to authorize the review of certain executive orders issued by the President of the United States.”

2. Oklahoma Resists Biden Order

Charging that Executive Order 13990 issued by President Biden “is in contravention of Article II Section 2 and the 10th Amendment of the United States Constitution,” Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt issued his own executive order this week to, in effect, nullify it.  Governor Stitt is a Republican, elected in 2018. His order is challenging Biden’s order as “adverse to energy producers throughout the United States and Oklahoma.

3. Texas Resists Biden Order

Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) filed a lawsuit to stop implementation of an executive order that directs a halt to all deportations of illegal aliens during Biden’s first 100 days as president.  According to Paxton, the freeze violates the Constitution and is a violation of federal immigration and administrative law as well as an agreement between the State of Texas and the Department of Homeland Security.

4. Russia-China Tensions Increase

The Russian Aerospace Forces (2 Su-24M, 2 Su-27s and 2 Su-30SM) have conducted mock missile strikes against USN ships as soon as they entered the southern waters of the Black Sea.  The same day Chinese aircraft conducted a mock attack on a US carrier in the Pacific.  Andrei Raevsky

“There was an [election] conspiracy unfolding behind the scenes, one that both curtailed the [election fraud] protests and coordinated the resistance from CEOs. Both surprises were the result of an informal alliance between left-wing activists and business titans…The [conspirator’s] work touched every aspect of the election. They got states to change voting systems and laws and helped secure hundreds of millions in public and private funding. They fended off voter-suppression lawsuits, recruited armies of poll workers and got millions of people to vote by mail for the first time. They successfully pressured social media companies to take a harder line against disinformation and used data-driven strategies to fight viral smears. They executed national public-awareness campaigns that helped Americans understand how the vote count would unfold over days or weeks, preventing Trump’s conspiracy theories and false claims of victory from getting more traction. After Election Day, they monitored every pressure point to ensure that Trump could not overturn the result.”  Time magazine

"And what is a good citizen? Simply one who never says, does or think anything that is unusual. Schools are maintained in order to bring this uniformity up to the highest possible point. A school is a hopper into which children are heaved while they are still young and tender; therein they are pressed into certain standard shapes and covered from head to heels with official rubber-stamps." H.L. Mencken, 1927

“Propaganda is not what it used to be. It is something far worse. In part because of the effectiveness of its action upon us, we have no idea when it is present, nor what it is doing to us.”  – John Waters

"The way to crush the bourgeoisie is to grind them between the millstones of taxation and inflation."   Lenin

"The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries." Winston Churchill

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things.

The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing

is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he

is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own

personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free

unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

John Stewart Mill

“When you tear out a man’s tongue, you are not proving him a liar, you’re only telling the world that you fear what he might say.”   George R.R. Martin,

“Bernays discerned that Americans preferred to borrow money at higher rates from loan sharks rather than patronise legitimate banking institutions, because they feared being judged. Using these insights, he helped banks to develop products and messages to get around such fears. He formed the view that people tend to buy things for reasons other than utilitarian — as extensions or reflections of their personalities, for example. Every product, he declared, has a personality, and the right campaign will communicate this to people who see themselves in a certain way.” John Waters
